Open Call for Submission of Interest for Book Chapter for the New Paradigms in Science Teaching and Public Engagement Volume

I am editing a book volume, entitled ‘New Paradigms in Science Teaching and Public Engagement’ for the new Springer Book Series ‘New Paradigms In Healthcare’ (https://www.springer.com/series/16769) and I am looking for chapter contributions on alternative or new approaches used for science teaching and/or public engagement and I thought this may be of interest to you. These new or alternative approaches could include, but are not limited, to the use of arts and humanities (e.g. poetry and literature, drama, films, ethics, etc.), gamification, and novel in-house technologies/methodologies to promote more creative ways of science learning with this not only being restricted to healthcare. The topics can be on teaching and/or public communication of science topics with submissions focusing on original data, reflections, literature reviews or a combination of these. This will be an edited book volume and depending on the number submissions, it will have between 10-20 chapters with the overall length of the book being approximately 150-200 pages (about 500 words per page).

If you are interested in contributing with a book chapter, please let me know by the 22nd of December. I will be collecting notes of interest until the end of this calendar year and then I will get in touch with interested chapter authors in the new year to discuss the following steps including a one-page proposal outlining your chapter, etc.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and I look forward to your replies. Dr Ourania Varsou, ourania.varsou@glasgow.ac.uk
