Dr. Ebba Högström is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Human Geography at the University of Glasgow, UK working with the research project 'GART-PSYSPAC: psychiatry in transition – discourse, dwelling, doing' together with Prof. Chris Philo. Ebba received a PhD in Planning and Decision Analysis from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. She holds a permanent position as Senior Lecturer in Urban Studies at the Swedish School of Planning at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Karlskrona, Sweden. Ebba has a Master in Architecture and extensive experience of architectural practice, especially in working with the conceptual stages of ideas, strategies and briefs.

Research and Teaching Interests

Asylum and post-asylum geographies, institutional geographies, architecture and spatial organization and design in relation to legal regulations and care discourses. Cultural mapping methods and (auto)ethnographic approaches for recover subjective experiences and meaning-making, but also for experimenting, analysing and representing spatialities. Experience of teaching project/design courses in architecture and urban planning and in urban theory, planning theory and scientific theory and methods.
