Susan Gardiner

Susan Gardiner is a final-year PhD student based at the Centre for the History of Medicine and working under the supervision of Professor Marguerite Dupree and Professor Malcolm Nicolson. Her current research explores the history of antibiotics, antibiotic resistance and infection control in two Scottish hospitals, c.1930-1970.

Research and Teaching Interests

History of: surgery, antibiotics, hospital infection, systems of infection control, nursing, bacteriology, medical and nursing education.
